The GYM will be a new weight lifting center on the property of Energy Fitness located at 2343 New Holt Road in Paducah. Construction is continuing and there's a lot of talk about what will be included inside the GYM.
Clues are beginning to publish on Energy Fitness' Facebook page. Plans for an October opening seems to be on the horizon. All just in time as summer is ending and those who want to 'stay in shape' begin thinking about new fitness activities. The new equipment being touted by the GYM is mostly strength training. The Arsenal Strength brand is designed for the best training facilities around the world, according to the company website. The Reloaded is a series of plate loaded equipment that features range limiters, floating handles, encased linear bearings and attention to mechanics. There's also the M-1 series that gives that 'old school feel' with a modern appearance. There's also the Functional Training System that's ideal for strength training. Lots of upper and lower body exercises can be performed on the apparatus. It's durable and high commercial quality with cable and pulleys made from steel frame construction. Some may ask what's the difference between a gym and a fitness center? A modern day gym is an indoor physical workout with equipment and machines that focuses on weight lifting, cardiovascular machines and similar activities. A fitness/health center is more for whole-body fitness. There can be indoor and outdoor activities. There are group classes and individual workout programs. They offer amenities such as physical therapy, warm up and cool down rooms, healthy juices and foods, and various equipment to help keep stay in shape. A swimming pool may be on the premises along with basketball/volleyball group sport activities. It's the whole package. It's exciting to see new construction happening in the area. For a person to stay in shape, it's a necessary amenity. COVID-19 has interrupted many of the group activities that help keep our hearts and minds at full function. The news on the GYM isn't clear on the exact exercise regimens planned. However, any activity that keeps our hearts pumping and our minds clear is met with a big, hardy welcome.
